Firefighting plane crashes South East of Perth

BREAKING NEWS:


A 737 air tanker has crashed while fighting forest fires near the Fitzgerald River National Park near Esperance. Western Australia Police say the aircraft took off from Bunbury to respond to a fire in the area.



The two pilots were taken to hospital and initial reports say they are okay.


Both pilots were able to free themselves from the aircraft and were later airlifted to hospital. The 737 air tanker was a converted passenger plane.
