Teenage girl dies after being mauled by a shark in Perth

A 16 year old girl has been tragically mauled to death by a shark while swimming in the Swan River this afternoon.

It happened in North Fremantle next to the Fremantle traffic bridge.

The West Australian reported that the teenage girl was pulled from the water at around 3:30PM (6:30PM AEDT) with significant injuries to her leg.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but paramedics were unable to save her life.
