BREAKING NEWS:
Update 1 | At least 23 people have been confirmed dead with 423 injured. The death toll in Northern Syria has risen to 39. Italy has issued a tsunami alert.
Update 2 | The death toll has risen to 139.
Southern Turkey has been rocked by a mammoth 7.8 magnitude earthquake leaving 15 people confirmed dead. Two buildings have also collapsed with Turkish officials saying the death toll could skyrocket into the thousands after 15 million felt severe shaking.

The quake was also felt in nearby Syria, Lebanon and Cyrus with light shaking felt in Jordan, Israel and Egypt. We are hearing reports of people trapped under rubble in Northern Syria after multiple buildings collapsed.
Turkey's Government has urged people to stop using their mobile phones with international aid requested.
