Paul Green dies at age 49, mental illness.

Australian rugby league coach and former player Paul Green has died at the age of 49.

Green was the coach of the North Queensland Cowboys and played for five different clubs in a 10-year career. He famously guided the Cowboys to the NRL premiership in 2015 against the Broncos.

Paul Green's family released a statement yesterday saying they were "devastated" by his loss. "We cannot find the words that would come close to expressing our feeling, Paul was loved by so many and we know that this news will generate immense interest. However, at this time we ask for privacy." He was recently the head coach of the Queensland Maroons just twelve months ago and appeared with the Cronulla Sharks last weekend. https://twitter.com/cronullasharks/status/1557572976480059392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1557572976480059392%7Ctwgr%5E0929cafb1df2c99356c21822050cd353fdd4cdbd%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fsport%2Frugby-league%2F625025
