Platypus stolen from Moreton, offenders seen boarding train

A platypus has been stolen from the Moreton Bay district on Tuesday at 11am. The offenders were seen boarding a train at Morayfield station with the platypus wrapped in a towel while petting and showing it to other passengers.

Queensland Police along with the Department of Environment and Science have issued a joint appeal to surrender the animal to a vet or police station as soon as possible.


The unlawful take and keep of a platypus carries a maximum penalty of $431.25.
